The Better Birth podcast: Gestational diabetes nutrition

In this latest episode of the Better Birth podcast, I chat with dietician Leslee Flannery, talking about gestational diabetes and diet. In the UK the advice given when gestational diabetes is diagnosed is to follow the EatWell plate, which promotes a balanced low fat diet, but is this the most helpful advice? Leslee busts some myths about diet and gestational diabetes, the foods you should eat, when to eat and what to pair with what to avoid spiking blood sugar levels.

Leslee is a Registered Dietitian, specializing in Gestational Diabetes. She grew up and currently resides in Ohio USA with her husband and 2 boys. Leslee has been working with pregnant people since she became a dietitian in 2013 and runs a successful Gestational Diabetes nutrition coaching program, The Better Blood Sugar Method that has helped over 200 (and counting) people birth healthy babies! You can find Leslee on Instagram @Gestational.Diabetes.Nutrition
